Step 2 — The 3-Year Residency Period
One of the most misunderstood aspects of the Paraguay citizenship pathway is what “maintaining residency” actually requires. The answer is less than you think.
There is no minimum stay requirement. You are not required to spend 6 months per year, 30 days per year, or any specific number of days in Paraguay. Many of our clients get their residency in Asuncion, return home, and do not set foot in Paraguay again until year 3 when they’re ready to apply for citizenship.
