BusinessAnywhere Virtual Mailbox Review: A US Street Address From Abroad

A PO Box will not keep your US banking and IRS mail alive after you leave. Banks, most state filings, and the IRS want a real street address. BusinessAnywhere’s virtual mailbox is a USPS-registered Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) address: mail is received, junk filtered, and scanned to a dashboard within two business days, with unlimited scans included. Annual Basic starts at $20/month with no signup fee on that billing cycle.

This page is the mailbox product only. We already cover Anytime Mailbox separately. If a bank rejects CMRA/PMB addresses, that is a different job — see US mailing and address service.

What a Virtual Mailbox Actually Is

A virtual mailbox is a real US street address plus a team that receives the paper, scans it, and lets you forward, shred, or store it from another country. “Virtual address” and “virtual mailing address” are the same product class.

It is not a PO Box. A PO Box number fails most bank KYC and many IRS/state business-address fields. It is also not a residential lease. CMRA operators must hold a notarized USPS Form 1583 before they can accept your mail — that form is the onboarding bottleneck, not the dashboard.

Expats in Latin America use this for three jobs: keep a US bank or brokerage from mailing into a dead house, catch IRS and state notices, and put a street address on an LLC or EIN packet without publishing a home address.

How BusinessAnywhere Handles Mail

Their published flow: create an account, pick a location, pay a plan, upload a notarized Form 1583, then read mail in the dashboard. Scans are promised within two business days of receipt. Physical items sit free for 30 days; they email reminders around day 23 and day 28. On day 30, letters are shredded and packages are returned to sender unless you turned on extended storage. Digital scans stay in the dashboard.

Unlimited incoming mail and unlimited scans are included in the plan price. Forwarding is opt-in: $2 packing plus the carrier cost when you request a ship. They also sell optional add-ons (extended storage, shared access, auto-forward, bulk return handling) that they say never bill unless you switch them on.

Form 1583: every CMRA must file it. BusinessAnywhere offers an in-flow online notary (they list $37) or a self-notarized upload at no extra charge. Until 1583 is approved, USPS will not deliver to that box. One form per recipient. Locations are third-party partner sites — their FAQ says you cannot pick up mail in person.

Cancel: mailbox stays active through the paid period, then login continues for six months so you can view scans and forward remaining items (they list $10 per piece plus standard shipping in that window). After that, new mail is returned to sender.

Pricing

Figures below are from BusinessAnywhere’s live virtual-mailbox pricing table. Confirm on their checkout before you buy.

PlanMonthlyAnnual (per month)Recipients
Basic$25 + $25 signup$20, no signup feeUp to 2
Premium$40 + $25 signup$30, no signup feeUp to 5
Advanced$85 + $25 signup$65, no signup feeUp to 20

Extra recipient/user: they list +$7.50 (plan page) / $7 per seat per month for Shared Access. Forwarding $2 packing + carrier. Extended storage $1 per item per month after the free 30 days. Auto-forward $10/month plus standard forwarding. Bulk campaign returns $150/month. Shredding, junk filtering, and digital scan storage are listed as free.

The pricing argument versus iPostal1 / PostScan Mail is not the headline monthly fee. Those products often look cheaper at $10 until you pay per scan. Unlimited scans is the line that matters if you actually get IRS envelopes, bank cards, and brokerage statements.

Locations

BusinessAnywhere publishes street addresses across multiple US states, including Wyoming (Cheyenne and Laramie), Florida, Texas, Nevada, Delaware, New Mexico, and Washington, D.C. The live list is on their all-USA locations page. They add sites; do not treat this article as the inventory.

For a Wyoming LLC, a Cheyenne or Laramie mailbox is the obvious pairing so formation mail and the operating address are in-state. That does not make you a Wyoming tax resident. A Florida or Texas box does not exit California residency. Address selection is mail logistics and public-record hygiene, not a tax election — see Wyoming LLC for non-residents and talk to a CPA before you pick a state “for taxes.”

Anytime Mailbox still wins on raw location count (1,500+ sites). BusinessAnywhere wins if you want the mailbox sitting next to their LLC / EIN / registered-agent dashboard later. Do not buy a mailbox in California or New York just because the city name is familiar.

CMRA vs an Unflagged US Address

Every virtual mailbox in this category is a CMRA. USPS requires that, and many banks, card issuers, and some brokerages can see the CMRA/PMB flag and refuse the address for new accounts. Unlimited scans do not change that.

Use a CMRA mailbox when the job is: see the paper, keep a street address on file, forward a card to Medellín or Asunción. Use an unflagged residential-style address when a specific bank or brokerage has already rejected CMRA. That is why we keep US mailing and address service as a separate product. Do not pretend a $20 CMRA plan is the same deliverable.

Paraguay clients: a US virtual mailbox is not a substitute for a local residential address on a residency file. Different country, different form. See Paraguay residency.

BusinessAnywhere vs Anytime Mailbox vs Traveling Mailbox

All three are US CMRAs. Pick on location breadth, scan billing, and whether you want mail sitting next to company formation.

ProviderBest forWatch-out
BusinessAnywhereUnlimited scans, published fee table, Wyoming locations next to an LLC dashboardFewer sites than Anytime; no in-person pickup; still CMRA-flagged
Anytime Mailbox1,500+ locations if you need a specific cityMailbox-only; confirm scan overages on the plan you pick
Traveling MailboxSimple scan / forward / shred US boxNo company-formation dashboard

Full Anytime write-up: Anytime Mailbox for expats. We are not swapping that page. If you only need mail, either CMRA is fine. If you already know you will form a US LLC from Latin America, putting mailbox + registered agent in one login is the BusinessAnywhere case — the done-for-you path is still Wyoming LLC package.

BusinessAnywhere cites a 4.7/5 Trustpilot score on that mailbox page (183 reviews in their widget). Treat vendor-hosted widgets as marketing until you read recent reviews yourself.

Who This Is For

Good fit:

  • Americans and other US-account holders living in Latin America who still get IRS, bank, and brokerage paper
  • Founders pairing a Wyoming LLC from abroad with a Cheyenne/Laramie CMRA address
  • People who hate per-scan billing and will actually open every envelope in the dashboard
  • Anyone who wants mail + company docs in one login later, without pretending that solves banking KYC

Poor fit:

  • A bank that has already rejected CMRA/PMB — start with unflagged US address
  • Paraguay/Mexico/Colombia residency files that need a local residential address
  • People who need to walk in and collect a package the same day
  • Anyone shopping only on the cheapest advertised monthly fee and ignoring scan charges elsewhere

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a BusinessAnywhere virtual mailbox a real street address?

Yes. Published locations are street addresses with suite/client numbers, not PO Box numbers. They are still CMRA addresses. Banks and the IRS generally accept street format; some banks still reject CMRA flags.

How much does BusinessAnywhere virtual mailbox cost?

From their live page: Basic $20/month billed annually (no signup fee) or $25/month plus $25 signup. Premium $30 annual / $40 monthly. Advanced $65 annual / $85 monthly. Unlimited mail and scans included. Forwarding is $2 packing plus carrier. Reconfirm at checkout.

Do I need USPS Form 1583?

Yes. Every USPS-authorized CMRA must hold a notarized Form 1583 per recipient before mail can be accepted. BusinessAnywhere walks that in onboarding (online notary listed at $37, or self-notarize at no extra charge).

Can I use this as my Wyoming LLC address?

You can use a real street mailbox as the business mailing address on formation paperwork. A registered agent address is a separate statutory requirement in most states. Their platform also sells formation and registered agent — this article is only the mailbox. For a done-for-you LLC, use our Wyoming LLC package.

Will a US bank accept a virtual mailbox?

Some will for existing customers keeping statements flowing. New-account KYC is stricter and CMRA flags get rejected. If a specific institution already said no, do not keep retrying CMRAs — use an unflagged address product.

Can I pick up mail in person?

No. Their FAQ states locations are third-party partners and the agreement does not include direct client walk-in.

Is this the same as Anytime Mailbox?

No. Anytime Mailbox is a mailbox-only network with far more locations. BusinessAnywhere is a smaller location list with unlimited scans and an optional company-formation dashboard. See /virtual-mailbox-expats/ for Anytime.

Keeping your US number, too? A mailbox solves your address; most expats also need a working US mobile number for bank OTPs and 2FA. Google Fi keeps a real US number active from anywhere (referral link — you and we both get a service credit). Cheaper option if you just need the number, not data: our Tello vs Google Fi breakdown.
